Fantasy time (Game Shows)

I just happen to catch part of the special "Whammy: The All New Press Your Luck" where the 3 contestants from Michael Larsen's performance on "Press Your Luck" in 1984 came back for a re-match (well, Michael Larsen has since passed on, so his brother James took his place). Featured in Whammy's question round was a cameo appearance by original PYL host Peter Tomarken.

I have no issue with Todd Newton's ability to host a game show [if Drew Carey hadn't come along, I think he would have made a good "Price is Right" host]. When Whammy premiered, both Tomarken and Newton were the finalists for the show. While Todd Newton became the show's host, I have no doubts that Peter Tomarken would have been able to host the show as well too after watching his performance on today's Whammy. It's a shame that Tomarken's sudden passing prevented him from hosting another game show.

Thankfully, we have a network such as GSN that airs both shows so all generations can enjoy the talents of both of these fine game show hosts.
